Technical SEO Specialist

Come work on a dynamic marketing team that’s revitalizing and refreshing the perspective of an established brand! We’re seeking a Technical SEO Specialist that will play a key role in determining the strategic direction of social media by delegating and providing solid project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and developing SEO strategy.


Currently, the team is 100% remote but post-Covid, candidates will be required to come back into an office full-time. Candidates should be local to metro Atlanta. 

This is a full time role, C2C is not available. Please no partners!


Position Summary:

The Technical SEO Specialist will lead both on-page and off-page SEO functions for our client’s marketing team. This role will be responsible for managing SEO activities such as keyword strategy and link building to increase rankings on all major search platforms. You will pick out the signal from the noise and define the opportunities and problems that are worth solving.


Ultimately, these goals must be aligned with the overall business and sales goals for the year. SEO success is a key focus for stakeholders.


On-page: Technical audits and analysis to uncover opportunities and help site performance and make recommendations for improvements. This role will either implement recommendations themselves OR work with our IT team to task them on implementation. Follow through on projects will be essential.

Off-page: SEO efforts will include building backlinks by developing relationships with other sites by partnering with the Content & SEO team on content development and thought leadership opportunities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

      This role will work closely with stakeholders from our Marketing, IT, Business Intelligence, and Product teams to ensure that updates meet all stakeholder expectations and schedules.

      Perform ongoing keyword research including a review of current targets as well as discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities.

      Ability to persuasively communicate on-page technical and off-page SEO strategy and tactics for the company.

      As part of our SEO Roadmap, collect data on traffic, average position, and other KPIs and share through weekly reporting on recommendations, achievements, setbacks, and strategies for how to adapt as part of the overall marketing strategy with UX and conversion in mind.

      Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to monitor daily SEO performance.

      Lead off-page SEO projects (i.e. link-building) including building relationships and working with the Content & SEO team to develop contributed content as needed.

      Be an enthusiastic and motivated part of a busy, growing team.

      Manage internal and external resources related to SEO efforts

      Assist Marketing and Leadership in identifying tools and barriers to achieve goals.

      Engage others within the Marketing, IT, and Product teams to complete assignments, focusing on a shared purpose that puts company success first.

      Other duties as assigned.


This role must have a strong understanding of the finer points of technical SEO and their implementation, be able to advise on improvements to existing content, help plan keywords for new content, and stay on top of algorithm updates to ensure the website is always optimized. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are essential.


Required Qualifications 

      5+ years experience in SEO working with a marketing and IT/Dev team + a strong commitment to the details.

      Experience with Deep Crawl, Screaming Frog, Hotjar, FullStory, or similar.

      Experience with project management systems (i.e. BaseCamp, Jira, Asana, Trello, Monday).

      Expert technical on-page SEO knowledge including tags, image optimization, mobile-friendliness, and site speed optimization.

      Strong understanding of off-page SEO efforts including relationship development and management, content planning, and thought leadership opportunities.

      Excellent understanding of best practices for Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console.

      Experience with SEMrush or similar keyword research tools.

      Experience and ability with delegation and managing offshore teams to ensure work is completed to spec.

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or similar relevant field.
