Solutions Architect

Richardson, TX

This role involves a defined approach that includes business need identification, environment assessment, solution design, and advising the implementation team regarding the design prior to delivery. The service delivery team will be responsible for delivery and managing the environment which are the last two elements of the structured approach. Specifically, the Solutions Architect will interact with the client to identify the business need through onsite meetings and web-based collaboration. This requires the ability to communicate with a variety of different stakeholders from executive management to technical team members. Once the business need is defined, the Solutions Architect will assess the current environment to determine which existing components, if any, can be used to meet the business need. Using this information, the Solutions Architect will design a solution that encompasses the discovered need and the current infrastructure.

The output from this process is a Statement of Work that identifies the responsibilities of both parties involved. The Solutions Architect will complete this document as well as compose a Bill of Materials to define the required hardware, software/licensing, and professional services effort for the project. Once the client has signed the Statement of Work, the Solutions Architect will meet with the project management and engineering teams to ensure successful handoff prior to beginning the delivery phase.

As the role is involved in assisting the Sales team with revenue generation, other duties include presentations to potential clients, training classes for clients regarding new or existing technologies, and occasional implementation support to ensure client satisfaction. Due to the changing nature of the supported technologies, the Solutions Architect will be required to make an investment in continued training and education to address client needs.
