The Project Specialist position will require work that falls out of line with their standard agreement. The project work can vary in length and complexity. It is the responsibility of the Project Specialist to perform professional services based on established policies, procedures, and checklists. You’ll be accountable for maintaining project budget hours and timelines while identifying tasks that are out of scope and potentially require change order procedures. Success will come in the form of projects consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project
  • Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, and resources of vendors
  • Tracks progress of development projects
  • Compares the actual cost of development project to estimates
  • Collaborates with design group to change plans if problems arise
  • Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs
  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies
  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems
  • Collaborates with project specialists from other departments to share problems and solutions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong customer-focus
  • Demonstrated success with multi-tasking and the ability to adapt to ever-changing environment while maintain clear focus on all priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and acute attention to detail
  • Updated knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Expert networking knowledge (DNS, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.), desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree and updated certifications are required
  • Three years’ experience required.


 

 

Working conditions

 

 

The Project Specialist position usually works regular business hours but may be required to work additional hours to meet requirements. This position generally works in an office setting environment.
