IT Support Specialist (Contract to Hire)

6 month contract to hire in Metro Atlanta

Must be willing to work onsite 4 days/week

Position Summary: The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day desktop support for users, including troubleshooting issues with desktops, laptops, printers, conferencing equipment and other peripheral equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Acts as initial contact for all internal and external customer technical support required for computer workstation hardware and software, telephone, network, operating system, printing, and Internet        access problems.

• Performs installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, printers, and other peripheral devices.

• Develops instructional programs and conducts training for computer users, in one-on-one and/or classroom settings, on the use of PCs and software applications. Supports users with technical        advice and problem resolution.

• Coordinates activities in support of user training and assistance requests for all programs.

• Monitors assistance efforts periodically and provides assessment reports to management on status and recommendations for improvements.

• Confers with users and IT personnel to develop new approaches or alternatives to ensure that user assistance is being provided effectively and efficiently.

• Trains users in learning new company-provided applications and assists in problem-solving for applications issues.

• Maintains network and PC preventive maintenance logging efforts to ensure network and data integrity.

• Tests new software applications and recommends purchase where required. Trains HD staff on new applications.

• Develops and writes operational procedures for the department’s staff.

• Provides computer orientation to new and existing company staff.


Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field 

Required Skills: Must have 3+ years of experience with: 

• Windows 10 Support

• O365

• Azure

• Cloud Applications

• Working with a distributed workforce

• Conferencing Solutions

• Outstanding Customer Service

• General Networking knowledge (a plus)
