Our start up client in the Genome space is looking to bring on a High Performance Computing Manager to the team! Our client is a genomic health IT company that keeps pace with the constant advancements made in genomics and connects that research to patient DNA to help diagnose and treat patients with rare genetic diseases and cancer. They prefer someone that is local to Seattle but will consider remote candidates on the West Coast. What we are looking for: ● Four or more years of experience in one of the following fields: information technology, system administration, or high-performance computing. ● Expertise with HPC system software cluster management tools, job schedulers, and other HPC tools including SLURM (21.08), Ansible, and more. ● Proficiency in fundamental programming skills (Bash, Python, and similar languages). Expertise with administration, monitoring, and maintaining secure Linux/Unix operating systems (Debian 11). ● Knowledge of HPC storage principles, file systems (NFS, Lustre, BeegFS, ZFS, etc.), and compute node storage with a particular emphasis on Isilon’s system. What you will be doing: ● Supports day-to-day operations of a 60 node HPC cluster connected to 7+ PBs of high-performance storage. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing an existing in-house HPC infrastructure (~90 Nodes, 3,800 cores, 32 GPUs, and 7.5Pb of multi-tiered storage), growing it over time ● Develops new HPC software deployment plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability for Altius bioinformatics and research teams. ● Contribute to the architecture and implementation of complex biological pipeline processes ● Automating and reporting on telemetry that monitors the computing resource performance, managing configurations, and addressing security administration. ● Drive the architecture and implementation that bridges our HPC environment and our Cloud. Effectively implementing cloud bursting for the HPC cluster. ● Trains technical IT staff in the use of new software and hardware, either developed or acquired. Designs, installs, configures, and performs document management for cluster infrastructure, including operating systems, job schedulers, resource managers, provisioning managers, Perks: Helping cure Cancer!
